How does a tiller work? What is the difference between a separator and a traditional tiller?

The AGRIZAN SB series tiller is a machine that, when connected to a tractor, mechanically digs, crumbles and loosens the soil. Thanks to the operation of the cultivator, we can remove the old turf from the lawn, dig the soil, remove weeds, level the soil, while preparing for a new lawn or vegetables.

Thanks to the knives mounted on the rotating shaft, fragments of the soil are cut and crushed. The knives on the AGRIZAN SB separating arm rotate in the opposite direction to the direction of travel of the tractor. A very important element of the tiller structure are the rods that separate the stones. Due to the direction of rotation of the knives, the soil is sifted through this rod system, which acts as a sieve, separating larger elements from fine ones. The entire coarser fraction, such as stones, sticks, roots, larger clods of earth, land on the first lower soil layer and are covered with the fragmented, properly prepared substrate.

Thanks to the rear roller of the separating arm, we regulate the working depth of the machine, and at the same time we get a leveled and compacted soil, which is ready for further cultivation. This is a great advantage of the separating tiller, and this is how it differs from traditional tillers.

The main area of ​​​​use of the separating roller is to help establish lawns, it is also an ideal tool for leveling previously disturbed soil.

What else is different about the AGRIZAN SB separating tiller?

This machine has a minimal side shift option, thanks to which we can further refine the placement of the machine behind the tractor. Tillers use a drive chain, which requires the use of a protected cardan shaft, i.e. a tear-off wedge or a clutch to protect the gears of the tractor and the machine.

The SB 125 AGRIZAN tiller has a simple and robust design. The hinged wing function makes it easier to keep the machine clean and provides better access to the main shaft of the knife shaft.

There are two shock absorbers on each side of the machine above the hinged opening. If a larger stone or clod of earth gets under the teeth, these elements protect the upper surface of the tiller from being hit by the floating moving part of the machine.
