The tillers work the lower soil layer thoroughly without breaking up the pasture.
There is no mixing of the upper and lower soil layers. The straight discs in front of the blades cut a thin opening, and then the blades loosen the lower soil layer, which results in the soil being able to absorb more water and the roots getting more oxygen. This increases the plants ability to absorb nutrients.
